Limonata is an Italian-inspired café in the heart of Albuquerque’s Nob Hill District. We have been part of the community since 2012, offering a welcoming atmosphere where you can find great coffee and delicious homemade food.
A Brief History of Limonata
There are two histories to Limonata—that of the building and that of the café itself. The building that houses Limonata was built in the 1940s, a time when Nob Hill was growing because of the recent designation of Central Avenue as part of U.S. Route 66. Over the years, the building has housed a number of small shops, including a Guiseppe’s, a bookstore owned by a bicycle enthusiast (you could tell because of the bike-related décor around the shop).
At some point (we’re not exactly sure when), the shop was expanded to create a small kitchen area, allowing the building to become home to Limonata, which first opened its doors in 2012. When founded, Limonata had a small menu. In 2015, Limonata was purchased by its current owners—Brenda and Bill—who have worked tirelessly to improve the café, expand the menu and make Limonata the place for great coffee and homemade food in Nob Hill.
